Bristol Mountain’s 1200′ rise is the highest between the Adirondacks and the Rockies.  From its summit you can enjoy a stunning view of the Finger Lakes winter wonderland from an elevation of 2200′.

The Resort has 2 Terrain Parks, both accessible by the Morning Star Quad lift. There are also 5 additional lifts, including the Comet Express which zips riders to the summit in 4 short minutes.

Most Trails are open until 10 p.m.

This is a great resort for families because, across the 160 nature-filled acres, there are trails geared to all level of skier or snowboarder, and private or group ski lessons are available from Bristol Mountain’s nationally certified instructors.  The resort also rents Elan Skis and Burton snowboards and offers a Children’s Learning Center.

Even when it’s a mild winter, Bristol Mountain provides an average base depth of between 24″ and 40,” thanks to a partnership with Ratnik Industries, the leading engineering and manufacturing firm of snowmaking systems, which means that snowmaking is done over 97% of the mountain.

For the 2009-2010 season, Bristol Mountain opened the new Galaxy Express Chairlift that will swoop riders up the 1200′ vertical in a mere 4 minutes.  The addition of this second quad means that, even on weekends, the wait time should be short.  While there, be sure to check out the Morning Side Cafe, a slope side waffle house open 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fridays and holidays, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.  If you enjoy cross-county skiing, you’ll love the  Summit Nordic Center which has been getting rave reviews from avid Cross-country skiiers!

Thinking of going today?  You can check out conditions via Bristol Mountain’s Live Webcam, updated once per minute and available from their homepage.
