Don’t miss the chance to celebrate winter at the Mendon Ponds Winterfest, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on January 11th!
There are fun activities for the whole family, including everything from sledding, snow shoe races, hay rides and dog sled races (outdoors) to dulcimer demonstrations, face painting and balloon animals (indoors). Weather permitting, you can also see an ice fishing and an iceboating demonstration.
Mendon Ponds is a favorite bird sanctuary where you can feed chickadees from the palm of your hand, so it’s fitting that there will be a Wild Wing live bird presentation in the cottage behind the nature center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Warm up in the lodges scattered throughout the park as you catch a bite to eat and talk to exhibitors including Pack, Paddle and Ski, the Nordic Ski Patrol, Park Avenue Ski Shop , Eastern Mountain Sports, the Rochester Nordic Ski Club and others.
For a full schedule of events, click on “Events and Activities” from the Mendon Ponds Winterfest home page which also contains a map of the park.
Mendon Ponds is located at 3914 Clover Street in Mendon, NY south of the New York State Thruway (Route 90)
As they say on the website, “Winter is just an excuse to have fun at Mendon Ponds Winterfest!” Hope to see you there!
