Charming Canandaigua, New York is home to the New York Wine and Culinary Center, an innovative state-of-the-art facility that offers unique programming in cooking and wine tasting and selection.
The Center boasts a 44 seat demonstration theater as well as a professional-quality hands-on kitchen that will accommodate up to 36 would-be chefs. Classes at the Center focus on cooking techniques, food and wine pairings, wine tastings and nutrition programs. They’re taught by talented Chef Instructors and are geared toward people of all ages and skill levels.
In addition to the professional kitchens, the center has a lovely tasting room with a relaxed atmosphere where you can sample wines and beers from throughout New York State. The tasting menu changes monthly and the wines are available for purchase.
Of course no culinary center would be complete without a restaurant, and the Taste of New York Lounge at NYWCC utilizes New York’s finest produce and products in the preparation of their meals. During summer months, guests are also treated to a view of beautiful Canadaigua Lake from a seat on the outdoor balcony. Or, if you’re interested in an intimate dining atmosphere for a small social or corporate event, there’s an elegant private dining room on the main floor.
Across from the gift shop is an exhibit that showcases New York agriculture and its importance to New York State.
Speaking of gift shops, don’t forget to stop by NYWCC’s retail shop before you leave. It’s chock full of recipe books, kitchen aids, condiments and preserves and every sort of accoutrement for the culinary or wine connoisseur.
