Updated for 2010/2011
One summer day, I was standing near the desk of a Geneva hotel when two guests approached asking for ideas of places to shop. The young person behind the desk suggested Waterloo Premium Outlets.
“I saw the brochure on the rack, but is it really worth the trip?” The one women asked.
Were they nuts? What inveterate shopper in her right mind wouldn’t want to go to an outlet mall? Then I thought about some I’ve visited with stores so high-end that you have to produce your home equity loan just to window shop. Others focus on teenage fashionistas, leaving out the Gen X-ers and Baby Boomers who hold the purse strings and also need clothes. Let’s not forget those that call themselves outlet malls but are really just a series of large walk-in closets. These women were smart to ask!
